ISS Practical Impacts Award 2022
Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Ketter won the ISS Practical Impact Award 2022 in recognition of his work as an information systems academic, who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and sustained impact on the industry (click here for award speech).
ECIS 2022 - Ciborra Award
The first in-person European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS2022, in Timișoara, Romania) after the COVID-19 pandemic was promising for our chair. Our colleagues Muhammed Demircan, Ramin Ahadi, and Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Ketter won the Ciborra award for the most innovative research paper, titled “SUSTAINABILITY VS. PRICE: ANALYSIS OF ELECTRIC MULTI-MODAL VEHICLE SHARING SYSTEMS UNDER SUBSTITUTION EFFECTS.”
INFORMS ISS Design Science Award 2021
Alok Gupta, Yixin Lu, Eric van Heck and Wolfgang Ketter won the 2021 INFORMS ISS Design Science Award for our research project “Designing Next Generation High-Speed Auction Markets (Next-ACT)”. The project has developed novel IT/IS artifacts that greatly improve the performance of complex Business-to-Business auction markets.
The purpose of the Design Science Award of the INFORMS Information Systems Society (ISS) is to promote and recognize research efforts centered on the design and realization of innovative information technology (IT) artifacts.
INFORMS - Information Systems Research Best Paper Award 2020
The paper "Consumption and Performance: Understanding Longitudinal Dynamics of Recommender Systems via an Agent-Based Simulation Framework" won the INFORMS Information Systems Research Best Paper 2020 award.
The AIS (Association for Information Systems) Inaugural Impact Award 2020
The AIS Impact Award is to recognize the impact of information systems research beyond academia. Impactful research can be a powerful individual motivator. Seeing that one's own research delivers societal value and helps business succeed is rewarding in its own right. The prize is awarded to the team of Alok Gupta, Wolfgang Ketter, Yixin Lu, Huong May Truong and Eric van Heck for their work on Artificial Intelligence in the Floriculture Chain.
Runner-up Award of the year 2020 “INFORMS Wagner Prize for Excellence in the Practice of Advanced Analytics and Operations Research
The prize is awarded to Professor Dr. Wolfgang Ketter for his application-oriented research on the electrification of public transport in Rotterdam (Netherlands), together with Ayman Abdelwahed, Pieter L. van den Berg and Tobias Brandt (all Erasmus University Rotterdam) and Judith Mulder (Rotterdamse Elektro Tram). INFORMS (“The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences”) is an international community in data science, analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence (AI). As a multinational professional society, INFORMS networks members from various institutions and organizations in nearly 90 countries. Currently, the network includes about 12,500 professionals and students.
Runner-up Award of the AIS SIGGREEN (special interest group on green information systems)
Professor Dr. Wolfgang Ketter received the Runner-up A ward from the AIS Special Interest Group on Green Information Systems (SIGGREEN), along with Ezgi Avci (Turkish Standards Institute, Ankara), Derek Bunn (London Business School) and Eric van Heck (Erasmus University Rotterdam ) for their paper on empirical modeling of price expectations. The AIS is the Association for Information Systems, one of the most important organizations in computer science.
