Dorothy Grandia is Media Director for the Chair of Information Systems for Sustainable Society at the University of Cologne and Assistant Director for the Erasmus Centre for Women and Organisations (ECWO) at the Rotterdam School of Management/Erasmus University. Working primarily in STEM industry contexts, she specializes in the development of a range of persuasive communication styles and in particular the application of communication strategy to improve communication between (technical) specialists, cross-functional peers and general management/senior leadership. Since 2016 she has been a coach and co-teacher on the Art of Communication course at the INSEAD MBA programmes. Her interest in communication as a tool of influence evolved out of early career experience in the United States in journalism and politics. She has an MA in Vocal Performance from the New School University/Mannes College of Music and a BA in Asian Studies from the University of Texas at Austin.
