Dr. Friedrich Chasin
Curriculum vitae
Friedrich Chasin is chaired deputy professor for Information Systems and Systems Engineering at the University of Cologne. He previously held the assistant professor position at the Chair for Information Systems and Information Management Chair at the University of Muenster. He has been a frequent guest researcher at international universities, including the University of Sydney, the Queensland University of Technology, the University of Liechtenstein, and the Pohang University of Science and Technology. His academic experience is complemented by his business expertise as the Founder and CEO of an IT developer and IT service provider EVIS GmbH.
Friedrich holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Information Systems from the University of Muenster. Both his Bachelor's and his Master's theses written at the University of Sydney received the zeb/ award. Friedrich holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems from the University of Muenster. His Ph.D. thesis was awarded the Karl-Vossloh-Prize for the best dissertation in the area of mobility.
Friedrich is a seasoned lecturer with teaching experience at seven international universities, including Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Vietnamese-German University, and Stanford University. He often serves as a mentor for student teams participating in industrial challenges and guides start-up-like digital solution development projects.
Friedrich's primary research focus is on digital business development and the application of digital technologies for economic, ecological, and social sustainability. He has published over 30 articles in the mainstream IS outlets. His current interests include
