Martin Paschmann was postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Information Systems for Sustainable Society from 2017 until 2018 (Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Ketter, Faculty of Management, Economics, and Social Sciences at the University of Cologne).
Martin studied business administration and engineering with focus on electric energy technic at the RWTH Aachen. He received his degree (M.Sc.) in 2014. Based on his interest in electricity markets and the power grid, he joined the Institute of Energy Economics at the University of Cologne and ewi Energy Research & Scenarios as a research associate. Within his work as a consultant with topical focus on energy economics, he placed emphasis on modeling the development of future electricity markets and predicting electricity prices. Furthermore, he received his PhD in Economics in 2017 with his thesis “Five Essays on the Economics of Short-term Power System Flexibility”.
Martin gained professional experience as a consultant in the field of energy economics and electricity market modelling, was responsible for the sales forecast of a large e-commerce retailer and worked as an IT consultant with special focus on data science. He is currently working as an analytics consultant with focus on data science for a leading management consultancy.
