Janik Muires

Curriculum Vitae

Janik Muires is a doctoral researcher at Professor Wolfgang Ketter’s Chair for Information Systems for Sustainable Society at the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Cologne.

His current research revolves around novel mobility services such as micro-mobility and how users interact with them, specifically at the intersection with public transport, where shared mobility often sees itself attributed a first- and last-mile role. He also works on mobility intelligence for public transport agencies and cities within the project MIAAS ("Mobility Intelligence as a Service"), which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI).

His broader research interests are geared towards how Information Systems can help new smart mobility concepts emerge and operate sustainably. For this, he uses methods from machine learning and agent-based simulation.

Janik holds a Bachelor’s and a Master's degree in Information Systems, both from the Faculty of Management, Economics, and Social Sciences at the University of Cologne, and was awarded a spot on the Dean's List.

Janik is a TA for the Master’s course „Analytics and Applications“ (AA) and supervises Bachelor- and Master-Theses in his areas of expertise.
